This work was originally commissioned for the city of Blue Springs' annual public sculpture exhibition. I was asked if I could create something
that would incorporate my perspective based techniques (Transit) Radiant Light Film (Eye Candy) and adhere to the theme of the show: Evolve.
My solution was Evlove (evolve spelled backwards). The side view resembles a caterpillar that "evolves" into a butterfly when seen from the front.
The wings are mounted on leaf springs, allowing them to move in the breeze.
